CNC TOOL CUTTER GRINDER


CNC Tool Cutter Grinder

Location: Gorham, ME


OVERVIEW:

Under direct supervision, the CNC Tool Cutter Grinder will provide support to the CNC production department. The candidate will be responsible for setup, operation, and product quality of their assigned pieces of equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create / edit / maintain CNC tool and cutter grinding programs
  • Setup and operation of CNC grinding equipment
  • Performing first piece and in-process inspection of product
  • Assisting coworkers in keeping equipment running efficiently
  • Keeping the work area neat, clean, and organized
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Associates degree in Machine Tool Technology preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as a CNC Tool & Cutter Grinder
  • Proficient with Walter Tool Studio and Windows Mode programming
  • Walter Tool Studio programming training preferred
  • Walter Helicheck programming training preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated ability to follow Engineering documents including but not limited to:
    • Geometry specification sheets
    • Product drawings
    • Job routers
    • Process sheets
    • Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability for attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regular standing, sitting, and speaking
  • Frequent walking
  • Occasional climbing stairs, reaching overhead, and lifting up to 50 pounds

COATING CELL OPERATOR


Coating Cell Operator

Location: Gorham, ME


POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under direct supervision, the Coating Cell Operator prepares end mills for the coating process, loads and unloads end mills into coating vessel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Loading and unloading coating satellites
  • Loading and unloading the coating machine (requires 50 pound lift)
  • Operation of coating machine
  • Operation of the washing machine
  • Working to shop documents to ensure quality products
  • Keeping the work area neat, clean and organized
  • Assisting in other departments when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:

  • High School Degree or GED
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and handle numerous tasks simultaneously

  • Ability to follow procedures

IN PROCESS INSPECTOR


In Process Inspector

Location: Gorham, ME


OVERVIEW:

Under indirect supervision, the In-Process inspector will be responsible for conducting in-process and first piece inspection for CNC manufacturing, general production operations as well as any work required in the QC lab.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • First piece and in-process tool inspection:
    • Complete required tool inspections via Helicheck and any other required measurement equipment
    • Complete all required CNC inspection documentation
    • Complete in-process inspections per 1-10 rule on all operational CNC machines
  • Work in QC lab on tools staged for coating:
    • Prioritize and inspect tools scheduled for the following days coating load
    • Complete all required inspection documentation
  • Work in QC lab on tools placed on the “Must Ship” list
    •  Prioritize and inspect tools scheduled to ship the following day
    • Complete all required inspection documentation
  •  Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of:
    • Cutting tool nomenclature
    • Working understanding of QC principles and methods
    • Understanding of the imperial measurement system
  • Properly demonstrate a sufficient understanding of basic tool geometry and inspection practices
  • Demonstrate a sufficient working knowledge of the Helicheck Inspection System and NC comparator
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows

Maintenance Technician

Location: Gorham, ME


OVERVIEW:

The Maintenance Technician handles the maintenance and repair of the CNC and other production machinery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Diagnoses and repairs production machinery
  • Communicates with management and machinery vendors as required
  • Maintains and follows comprehensive machine TPM schedules
  • Assist with Company projects and engineering efforts
  • Peer mentoring
