CNC Machinist – Tool & Cutter Grinders

Location: Gorham, ME


POSITION OVERVIEW:

Harvey Performance Company is looking for experienced CNC Machinists – Tool & Cutter Grinders to join our team. Positions open on all shifts! Our CNC Machinists work in a fast paced environment, running production lots, setting up new jobs, and developing new tools to customer specifications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Load programs, setup CNC equipment, complete 1st piece inspections, and run production loads
  • Use measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, and indicators
  • Interpret blue prints and specification sheets
  • Perform duties with minimal supervision
  • Monitor and maintain quality throughout production runs
  • Quickly identify and correct any tool imperfection and identify grinding wheel wear and make needed corrections

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • 3 – 5 years as a CNC operator is preferred, but candidates with no experience are also welcome to apply. We will train qualified candidates.
  • A two year degree or certification in Manufacturing Technology or similar area of study is preferred.
  • Possess strong geometry knowledge and mathematical skills

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide the first point of customer contact for customer inquiries such as order information, pricing, product information, shipments, and catalog requests

  • Process order changes, cancellations or additions
  • Provide order ship dates
  • Process returns
  • Adhere to Address Standardization practices while adding and maintaining end user address information

MANUFACTURING ENGINEER – SPECIALS PRODUCTION


MANUFACTURING ENGINEER – SPECIALS PRODUCTION

Location: Gorham, ME


POSITION OVERVIEW:

This is a senior level position within the Organization, this individual will be viewed as a technical leader.

Candidate would be responsible for special order/non-standard cutting tool production and assisting in the training of other CNC operators. Provide Engineering support to the manufacturing and quoting departments. Help develop all standard/special CNC programs and Engineering documents for process standardization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help Create / edit / maintain standard/non-standard CNC tool and cutter grinding programs
  • Help Create / edit / maintain Engineering technical documents (tech packs) including but not limited to:
    • Geometry specification sheets
    • Product drawings
    • Job routers
    • Process sheets
    • Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Ensure the specials/quotations work order management and production process providing a consistent (1 day) turnaround on specials quotations and (3 week) lead-time on specials production
  • Work closely with process engineering on creation of automated documentation process
  • Train “A” level CNC Tool and Cutter grinding positions to qualified training criteria, with a focus on nonstandard specials and a secondary focus on standards.
  • Continuous Improvement initiatives including but not limited to:
    • CNC cycle time optimization
    • Setup time reduction (SMED)
    • Reducing machine down time
    • Increasing machine efficiencies
    • Other LEAN initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering  field preferred
  • Associates degree in Machine Tool Technology required or 3+ years in a technical role
  • 5+ years of applicable work experience in a cutting tool manufacturing environment
  • Walter Tool Studio programming training required
  • Walter Helicheck programming training preferred
  • Proficient with Walter Tool Studio and Windows Mode programming
  • NUMROTO software experience is a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to function in a self-directed environment
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and handle numerous tasks simultaneously

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

A Sales Associate will be responsible for assisting customers with all aspects of:

This position is sales and service focused with responsibilities that include working collaboratively with our distributor partners to build relationships and manage expectations.

A typical week may be a 2-3 day trip within the territory and 1-2 days traveling more locally within the same territory.

  • Develop and establish deep-seated professional customer relationships with appropriate personnel (purchasing, engineering, manufacturing etc.) to gain strongest position and foster sales growth
  • Utilize, manage and maintain any/all your sales activity through our CRM platform (Salesforce.com). Including logging all calls, managing account contacts, reporting any activity and/or account communications
  • Conduct periodic technical seminars for distributors/end-users for more in-depth brand awareness, application assistance to present a stronger company value proposition.
  • Develop and manage annual sales forecasting and cost budgeting for your territory
  • Understand, develop and exercise Value Selling techniques with all your customers (Distributors and end-users) including proper execution of time/territory management.
