HARVEY PERFORMANCE COMPANY WEBINAR SERIES
What makes a material “exotic?” In short, it’s a material’s ability to resist heat, oxidation and corrosion, and hold its form with heat or pressure. Its strength-to-weight ratio also plays a big role. Materials classified as exotics, or high temp alloys, include Inconel, Hastelloy, Waspaloy, and Titanium Ti6Al4V, among others.
Like all materials, these types require special care to achieve an optimal result. Harvey Performance Company Application Engineer Don Grandt’s educational webinar, “Machining High Temp Alloys & Exotic Materials,” dives into common obstacles when machining these materials, and how to avoid them.
